Color landscape photography by Jack McConnell capture of Coastal Maine, captures iconic scenes at the waters edge, especially harbors in Penobscot Bay.
Scenics of Islesboro, ME include Grindle Point Lighthouse, Seal Harbor, the Narrows, Gilkey Harbor, Hermit’s Point, Hewes Point, ferns and fields of lupine. Many other coastal lighthouses include Portland Head Lighthouse, Fort Point Lighthouse, Nubble Point in York, Indian Island in Rockport with buoys and lobster boats, Goose Rocks Lighthouse in North Haven, Camden Harbor lighthouse and many more. Harbor and shopping scenes in Tenants Harbor, Belfast, Castine, Red’s Eats in Wiscasset, Ogunquit, Boothbay, Kennebunkport, and Acadia.
Growing up in New Hampshire at the foot of Mount Washington and skipping school to hike the strenuous Appalachian Trails, photographer Jack McConnell has an understandable wariness when it comes to the water. If anything, that early spring splash into the mountain run-off at Emerald Pool in Pinkham Notch prepared him for his annual August plunge into the frigid water between Minot and Middle Islands on Islesboro. One quick dive off the side of his tugboat each summer, just to say he’s done it. Paddle around with the seals for a hoot and a holler, then jump back aboard.
